The Process for Your First Visit

1

The consultation is one-on-one with Dr. Brandon, where he’ll take the time to get to know you or your child, review the history, and discuss your family’s concerns, needs, and goals for care. Dr. Brandon will explain his approach to neurologically-focused chiropractic care and why looking for the root cause of symptoms begins with understanding the nervous system.

You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions, share your concerns, and learn how this gentle, personalized approach supports overall health and development. Our goal is for you to leave feeling informed, comfortable, and confident about the next steps for yourself or your child.

We use INSiGHT Scan technology to give us a deeper look at how your nervous system is functioning. These scans provide valuable information that will help Dr. Brandon better understand your unique nervous system patterns and make recommendations for personalized care. INSiGHT Scans are painless, non-invasive, and do not use radiation, making them a comfortable option for the entire family—including newborns and expecting moms.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Scan

The HRV scan looks at variations in your heart rate, skin temperature, and skin conductance to provide insight into how your autonomic nervous system is responding and adapting.

Your autonomic nervous system is responsible for many of the body’s automatic functions and is often described in terms of the sympathetic (“fight or flight”) and parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) systems. The HRV scan helps us see patterns in your nervous system activity and adaptability, giving us a broader picture of how your nervous system is functioning in the moment.  Think of it as a snapshot of your nervous system’s current state and available adaptive reserves—valuable information that can help guide your personalized care.

NeuroThermal Scan

The NeuroThermal scan, also known as thermography, uses specialized sensors to measure temperature patterns at the nerve roots of your spinal cord.  We look at temperature differences from one side of the spinal cord to the other, as well as temperature pattern differences from the base of your spinal cord to your brain stem. These patterns can provide additional information about how the nervous system is functioning and help us identify areas of higher inflammation and irritation.

Surface EMG Scan

The surface electromyography (sEMG) scan measures electrical activity associated with the muscles and neuromuscular system. This allows us to see patterns of muscle tension, compensation, and fatigue that may be present as your body works to support an upright posture. The information from the scan gives us another piece of the puzzle when evaluating how your body and nervous system are working together.

Each INSiGHT Scan provides a different piece of information. When viewed together with your health history, examination, and goals, these findings help Dr. Brandon develop a personalized approach to care for you and your family.  Our goal is simple: to better understand how your nervous system is functioning to create a care plan that is uniquely tailored to you.

First Adjustment

During your first adjustment, Dr. Brandon explains everything before performing any specific adjustments for you or your child. Dr. Brandon's neurologically-focused approach means every adjustment is tailored to your specific needs, with gentle manual or instrument adjustments used when appropriate to help restore nervous system balance and optimal function. For expecting moms, we may also incorporate the Webster Technique, a specific, gentle approach designed to address pelvic alignment. Throughout your appointment, Dr. Brandon will explain step-by-step what he is doing, answer your questions, and make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way.

What's Next

An individualized care plan will be recommended to provide the frequency and duration of visits throughout the Restorative phase of care. We’ll also take time to review the financial side so you will have a clear understanding of your options and what to expect moving forward. Our goal is to make sure you feel informed, comfortable, and confident in your care every step of the way.

Care Plan

The Report of Findings appointment is a Day 2 followup from your first appointment. Dr. Brandon will sit down with you and explain your Insight Scans in depth, helping you understand what he is seeing with your nervous system and how it relates to the way your body is functioning. He’ll show you areas of subluxation, explain how these areas affect your nervous system, and help connect the dots between your scans and the symptoms you’re feeling. Most importantly, you’ll learn how precise, neurologically-focused adjustments will help support better communication between your brain and body. This is your opportunity to ask questions, get clarity, and understand the personalized approach he will recommend for your care.
